Lance Armstrong Rides In Steamboat

Lance Armstrong stopped by Steamboat this past weekend to participate in the Ride 4 Yellow mountain biking event. All 200 riders completed the 26 mile bike ride that started at Dumont Lake on Rabbit Ears Pass, continued past the lakes of Routt County’s backcountry, over the top of Steamboat Ski Area and down to the top of the gondola. The event was a charity ride that raised over $300,000 to be donated to cancer fighting charities. Lance, also a supporter of local Steamboat Springs energy bar company Honey Stinger, after the race said 'he was happy to have been able to make the trip, however, and like nearly everyone else in attendance, he was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for the fight against cancer.' Great to see such an outpour from the community for such a great cause. Below is a picture of Lance at the beginning of the ride.
